I currently have an imperial PC with a pcmcia firewire (2x 6 pin) card. One slot goes to my motu interface for audio and the other to my acomdata 250 gig (7200 rpm). When recording on to the external, I have skips and pops. When I had a Lacie external hard drive this never happened.

Is is possible that some hard drives take more of the bandwidth from the firewire pcmcia card than others, or have I completely missed the problem? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
