Major Laptop Issues

Hi, I am having a big problem with my hp zt1170 notebook. I was using it last night and all of a sudden the screen went blank, the mouse, keyboard, and wifi card lights went out, and the hard drive stopped clicking, but i could hear it spinning (thats my best description). It stays powered on. When i turn it off and restart it the problem starts right when i turn it on. If i wait a while (30 mins or so) I can turn it back on and have it working for a while before it happens again. When this happens i see the blue screen of death quickly flash and then its gone and everything is blank. I know this sounds confusing but does anyone know what this could be and have any suggestions?

Make sure there are no driver updates for your video card. If there are none, try uninstalling your current one, reboot and install the newest one (or most recent stable one)

Flash the bios, do a reformat and reinstall, just totally redo your system.

well to keep the blue screen up long enough to read it do this:
right click My Computer
click properties
go to the Advanced tab
Under startup and recovery, click settings
now under "System Failure" uncheck automatically restart
now when it does it again, it should automatically turn off
when it happens, write down what it on the blue screen and post it to us
