No wireless network???!!

i recently upgraded my hard drive and everything is working fine-except my wireless internet. I tried my sister's g-card and it all works fine, but my b-card isn't working as a wireless adapter should be. I don't even think my comp's recognizing it as a 'wireless' adapter. Therefore, I can't connect to the internet with it even if it says I'm connected. So I know it's something to do with the settings for the b-card adapter (it's a linksys). I'm running xp with sp2 on a dell inspiron 1100. All this has worked before my hard drive upgrade, so I know it can work, it's just a matter of figuring out how to make it work. Any input appreciated.

is it a g only router or a b/g?

it should work with both b and g - it did before... but it was originally for a b. it still worked with the g, but was restricted to 11mb/s (the max for a b network).

make sure you have the drivers installed.

all the drivers are installed, but its still not recognizing the card as a 'wireless' adapter for some reason...
this is really starting to annoy me, someone please help?
