mobo/cpu problem

friend of mine has a new msi kt3 mobo and AMD 2600+ cpu but for some reason when the power is switched on there is no bios beep how can i check things out i suspect myself it the cpu but i would be guessing.i have reinstalled mobo to make sure it is not earthing out on case made sure cpu is in ok. theres power vrunning through the board as fan kicks in.i think i may try cpu in my system as my mobo will take it. anyone any ideas.Thanks

It sounds like the mobo or cpu maybe fried.

I ran into the same problem about a year ago.. it turned out it was the mobo.. I was glad it was an old computer.. Got a replacement for 26$ on ebay!
