Compaq 2145US Media Test Failure

Computer shut down without warning got this error message on reboot. Tried a new hard drive and the error message above went away until I reformatted using the quick restore disks.. The computer shut off half way through without warning and does so inside of 5 minutes everytime the computer is started.. I still get the error message PXE-E61 media test failure followed by no operating system found.. I also get the option of going into MBA by pressing control-alt-delete during boot up before media failure message. Any thoughts

you should probably check if you are still under warrenty, and send it back. you sound like your screwed from the description you gave.

I am not under warranty.. this does not sound like some specific hardware failure or disconnection?

sometimes this can be caused by a settings in the bios. try setting them back to default and set your hard drive to the first boot device. otherwise it could be a bad hard drive
