Hi,
I have an x86 based laptop and i have an issue now. I am not able to view DVD movies on my laptop.
But I am able to browse DVD data discs.
When I try to play movies, it says I have to change the monitor resolution to lower ones or I have to reduce my system colors.
I have not changed any settings manually and this happened all of a sudden.
can anyone suggest a solution to this.
Thanks

windows media player isn't able to play dvds without an actual dvd decoder which is what cyberlink power dvd is. kind of like how windows media player won't play avi's unless you have divx or xvid.

1. I dont think u will be able to watch DVD movie on X86, DVD needs a very large bandwidth to play. Its not possible to get that much bandwidth in a X86 based system.
2. Just to try my word, copy a DVD movie using DVD compressor tool n then u will able to watch. There may be some jerks
