if you have a crossover cable you can send your stuff over to a desktop. same if you have a network. or getting a jump drive. jump drives are sweet for other uses anyways

there are a number of ways to backup everything, here are some things you can do:
1.) Copy files from your laptop to another desktop/laptop over your network.
2.) Buy an external hard drive, just make sure you only get the type that your computer supports (ex, only get a firewire hard drive if your laptop has firewire).
3.) If you dont have much data, you can use Yahoo! Briefcase which stores up to 30mb of storage.
4.) Get a flash drive and savfe your data to it.
5.) If you have a CD or DVD Burner, backup your documents and data on a CD or DVD.
