Just given(work) a Toshiba Satellite P35- P4,3.2,80G,1G,128Mb ATI graphics card, wireless, etc... All this so I can check email from home or when on leave. On the surface it looks good, too good for the intended purpose...
Now for the question: Did they get a good deal on a bunch of average notebooks or is this a capable machine, something I could possibly exploit for my own enjoyment??
that sounds like a very good laptop. radeon 9000 isn't that bad either. have fun with your new rig.

Yep, having fun so far, pulling my hair out over the overly sensitive touch pad... Can you de-sensitise these things??

of course you can, go into control panel, there may be a seperate part for the touchpad but if there isnt then open up the "mouse" part. Browse through there for about10 mins till you find the sensitivity thingy, its the "mouse speed"

i suggest getting a regular optical mouse when you are using it at home. i never liked laptop mice.
