A couple of weeks ago my vaio VGN-S150 started acting up. When I click the power button I have to do so multiple times before my computer actually boots and I see something on the screen.



If it doesnt boot up the fan turns on and the led's light up. There was a recall on this laptop awhile ago and my friend had owned it during that time, He said he was not aware of the recall of the faulty motherboards and did not have any problems with the laptop (recall was back in 2005)



Now this laptop is acting up, sometimes it freezes if you move it, even gently, and the graphics card crashes, either causing windows to look weird or the system freezes up and crashes with the blue screen of death.



Is there anything I can do but spend 400$ buying a new motherboard because as a high school student, money is something that is out of my reach at the moment.



I did take it to a shop but the guy said that the lcd screen was just acting up. he just recovered my laptop and charged me 35$. It worked fine, just like it did a month or two ago and then it started showing the same symptoms on the same day.



Please help me!! I need a laptop for my snowboarding trip!!
