thermal paste in socket.

hey guys, i was replacing my thermal paste and i accidently got some on the cpu pins and put the cpu into the socket without knowing. now when i try to turn on my comp it starts up for 1sec then shuts down. i cleaned off the thermal paste on the cpu pin, but im pretty sure there might be some in the socket is there a way i can clean it out?

Ha, that makes more sense. I started reading this, and I was thinking that paste in the socket probably wouldn't do anything unless it was in excess and maybe jumping two pins together.
