I wanna get good with computers, What is a mother board?

I have a laptop so is there anyway i can make it faster? lol dont say noob!

The motherboard contains vital system components and also controls all of your other hardware. Basically, your whole system is controlled by the motherboard. It controls the CPU, power, add-in cards, RAM etc. Unfortunately, on a laptop the motherboard is not quite as accessible and you pretty much can't upgrade it.

if i cant up my mother can i up my GPU ( that means graphic card right? )

Overclocking in a laptop is generally a bad idea. The cooling system of the computer generally will not handle the extra heat given off by the OCed components. Moreover, many cheap laptops don't even have dedicated graphics card.

Most likely not, there are only a few laptop motherboards that allow users to upgrade the video card. And if you currently have integrated, then no.
