i read a few times on threads that when you have a bran new processor, you should break it in. is this really true?
and how exactly would i break it in? does that mean pushing it to the max (100% CPU usage) for 24 hours?

You dont break in a cpu at all(at least I dont think you do) I think what they mean is when you build a computer you use Arctic Silver 5 or any other thermal compound and you have to let the compound break in for about 200 hours before you overclock it cause then the temps will settle.

You can OC before the paste is "broken-in", the process itself usually only lowers the temp by a slight degree.

so "breaking in" usually refers to the thermal paste? there's nothing on having the CPU use at 100% for a few hours?
