I decided to overclock my E4500 and I got it up to about 3.3GHz stable on stock cooler. It ran a little hotter than I would have liked and so I decided to go back down to the stock 2.2GHz until I got a new cooler.
Now, I've decided to overclock it again to around 2.7GHz or 2.9GHz, but the problem is that it WON'T overclock it. No matter what I do, even just to 2.3GHz it won't boot up. It will start, but before getting past the POST the computer shuts down and reverts back to the stock settings.
Is there a setting that I'm missing in the BIOS? I've tried raising the voltage on the CPU, lowering the RAM timings (and raising it), and many other things. What's going on?

What is RAM voltage? It needs to be at 2.1v...

Where did you get that from? The XMS2 DDR2-800 RAM generally runs at 1.8-2.0v stock.

I know...that's what I was about to say. On the package it says that stock voltage is 1.9 volts. I know that when you increase the RAM timings you should also increase the voltage but even if I raise the FSB, and lower the RAM multiplier to keep the RAM at about 750MHz I shouldn't need to raise the RAM voltages. If anything, I need to lower them, right?
Am I lost?

Actually it's when you decrease the RAM timings that you need to raise the voltage. I would manually set them to say, 5-5-5-15 at 2.0V, if the speed is still around DDR2 800.

I'm not sure if I can 'set' them to those specific numbers. As far as I can see, there is only a place for RAM Voltage, and RAM Multiplier...

You would need to change the memory options from "auto" to "manual". You really should know where to find these things before you start overclocking.

No, no. I've already done that. However, whenever I change it to Manual all it gives me are 7 options which read: +0.1, +0.2, +0.3, +0.4, etc. There isn't any specific place where I can enter numbers such as, "5-5-5-15" or anything like that.

Well that must not be the same place, because timings arent registered in decimals. I have the P35 board as well so I'm sure they are pretty similar, just try looking around for a place to change "auto" to "manual" for DRAM Timing, or something similar.
