P4 skt 478 question

Well im probably not going to get a new gaming pc now so i was thinking of just doing a slight upgrade to my system.



would a Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.6Ghz skt 478 be much better than a Socket A Sempron 2800+ @2Ghz?



i could always overclock the pentium 4 to maybe 2.8Ghz.



the reason i ask is because i can get that processor + a mobo for ?0

AMD 2600+ @ 1.6GHz equivalent to a Intel P4 2.4GHz.

The AMD should be around a 3GHz speed... You can always go to www.systemrequirementslab.com and take a random test. On the CPU Speed part, on the bottom in small letters it will tell you the Intel equivalent.

well it says my cpu is equivilent to a 2.8Ghz.



so not realy worth getting the p4 then altough it has more l2 cache
