I have always heard that AMD is better for gaming and INTEL for everything else, but now im reading that INTEL has always been better.. Just a little confused as to which is better in various types of situations, like gaming. Lecture me!

So INTEL hasnt always been the best, just after they released their core 2? what about AMD's dual core? any good? similarities? just wanna know for when i start up my new computer.

Correct, Intel hasn't all ways been the absolute best. AMD actually used to be better at Multi-tasking and gaming until Intel released their Core 2 Duo series. AMD's Dual Cores still offer a ton of speed and the most bang for buck, but when put next to an Intel, the Intel is going to blow it out of the water...generally at both stock and overclocked speeds.
