Problems with merging dates in non-US format

Hello!

Quite a basic query (hopefully) but one which is causing us some headaches! It has been posted before by different people in several places, but all the solutions thus far have been above my level of knowledge!!

We are currently merging an Access2002 database into a Word2002 document (have full MS Office XP installed). We are based in the UK, so all regional languages etc are set to English (U.K.), however the date comes out in American format (mm/dd/yyyy) when merged.

At present the formula used for the date field is: 'dddd dddddd'

This has resulted in several missed appointments with our teams out on the road!

I have tried all the obvious settings for changing the regional settings, short and long date format, different formulae for the date format (dd/mm/yy etc) etc and have no problems with the year setting and the easily solvable problems like that. I really have exhausted all other options so am not wasting this posting! Can anyone help?

All other answers to this question have assumed a certain level of knowledge which I do not possess. A solution telling me which codes to put in which boxes would be most welcome. If not this simple, I am confident to dabble in VB/SQL settings given a REAL step-by-step guide.

Thanking you very much in advance!

Ian
