Getting Under Construction page on new websrvr

New windows 2003 install and installed iis, created the default website and made these changes.

changed the default name to name of my choice,

added the machines ip address which is a local, allowed frontpage extionsions, changed the home directory one folder deeper than the default, copied all my html and image files to that folder added index.html as a start file in documents and when in type in the local ip address it comes up Under construction... that the default page is not present yet it is.

any ideas ????

You'll need to tell IIS that index.html is a default page.

I did under the website right click properties.... document tab i entered index.html and moved it to the top of the list. is there another place i need to specify that ??

i also made a copy of the index.html and renamed it to default.htm just to test. its like its not looking in the correct folder.

thanks.

Just guessing, there is also an order to default pages. I don't have IIS6, but in IIS 5 I'd create a virtual directory "mydir" and put my default page in that folder. Then open a browser to localhost/mydir/ and the default page in mydir should display.

Review your web server directory structure, I guess.
