umm im kinda concerned about my 300w power supply now that i just order a VisionTek HD 2600 xt 512mb PCIe video card. the site recommends a 350+ watt power supply. my current video card is a radeon x300 128 mb PCIe. do you think it will be sufficient? i mean how much power can it possibly use?

If the site said 350 plus watts then no your current psu probably wont be sufficient.

I thought amps on the 12V rail were the thing to look at? Is it a decent PSU, or something that came with an OEM build?

If it's OEM, or a PSU that came with a case, you'll almost certainly need to swap it out. However, if you have a fair amount of amps on the 12v rail, 300w should suffice, but I suspect the amps are rather low. But don't be too discouraged, best to go ahead and get a decent power supply before the other begins to cause problems or even damage to the machine.

i guess...it just kinda feels like it defeats the purpose of getting a good deal low priced card.
