Need Help with Power Supply

I'm new here so let me start by saying hello all.

Here is my question. I am building a new computer set up and with all the changes in the technology since the last time i built one im a little lost. I need to know what the best power supply would be for my new set up. I need on that抯 good quality but gentle on the wallet.

Here is the parts list so far.

  • Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R Motherboard
  • PNY VCG86512GXPB-OC GeForce 8600GT 512MB Video Card
  • Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 LGA 775 Processor
  • Crucial Ballistix 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
  • Maxtor Basics SATA II 300GB Hard Drive

Do i need 600W or more? Can i go with less W? I wont be running SLI but might change in the future. I just need one that will provide enough power to all parts and thats compatible with them as well.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

A good 450W will provide sufficient power, if you're looking for recommendations my entire list is at http://www.computerforum.com/90117-c...endations.html. The Corsair VX450 or VX550 would be at the top of my list. Also keep in mind that you won't be able to run SLI with that motherboard.
