Well an example would be if you want a cheap motherboard with integrated video, then most of them would be MicroATX.

That and some people want some space , or don't need as many expansion slots.

Carefull! Not ALL cases support the micro atx form. Some are ATX only.

Best bet is call the mfg's support number and verify it.
