Power Supply for gaming system

I'm building a gaming system and here are the specs of it:



Antec 900

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (will overclock slightly)

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 (PC2 6400)

Geforce 8800 GT 512MB

EVGA 680i NF67-T1

Western Digital Caviar 7200 RPM Hard Drive



I looked for a power supply and have come up with a few good ones. The problem is, they're basically the same thing. The only difference is fan size/number. Which should I get?

Both are very capable units, and far more than is required for your system unless you're planning on SLI. The version with the 2x80mm fans provides significantly better cooling, but is also louder. Personally, I'd take the one with the 2x80mms, but then again I've never cared too much about the noise.

My complete list of recommendations is located at http://www.computerforum.com/90117-c...endations.html. The XClio Greatpower 750W is a very good alternative for similar power and price. It's $10 more expensive, but features a modular interface and somewhat better build quality.

Then again, with the specs you've listed, even the Corsair VX450 would comfortably power your system.

I'd like to add that modular PSU's make a big difference with the Antec 900. The HD cages make it hard to manage a big bundle of cables, particularly if you have a big video card and sound card down there, too.
