yes and no. If i am not mistaken i thnk when i was looking into buying a battery backup one thing mentoned about low and high quality ones was that a poor one will give you a square wave output.

correct me if am wrong but believe a psu doesnt really like a square wave input and t may cause the psu to fail prematurely or limit its life.

to answer the question guess ts yes but its not the greatest thing for the pc .

i thnk you might be good buying just a battery backup . and if you want it to run a whle after the power s out buy one with a large capacity. the real use for these items is to allow you to safely shut the pc down rather than have it crash.

I believe a hgh output dc-ac converter will work also but same holds true its not healy for the pc or psu. hope i helped you out a bit

If you want to protect your PC in case of a blackout, what you need is a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) with battery backup. This way, when there is blackout, your computer will draw power from the battery however, how long the battery last depends on how much power your computer is taking from the battery. Of course, the more high end PCs are taking a lot of power hence the battery typically only last to safely shut down your computer while on a lower end computer, the battery will last longer.

Yup. The cheapest way is an UPS. For just second blackouts, any cheap one will do. One that will hold out for an few hours is different...
