Need Hard Drive Upgrade, Help!

I only have one, old, small hard drive in my system. World of Warcraft has taken up 80% of my storage space and I need to to put a second HD in very soon. Will this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822148261) do the job? I don't need anything too expensive or elaborate. Thanks!

What make and model board with this go on? If the board lacks sata ports which newer board will see standard you will have to go for an ide model. The 250gb size is generally good for the average build. For increased capacity eventually you may decide to go with a larger primary drive as well.

Chances are if your drive is that old that WoW takes up so much of it, your computer won't have SATA support. You'll probably be looking for a PATA one.

The game itself gets into the gigs as far as program directory and files. An old 13-20gb drive will fill fast with a few games and other programs installed. If less then 10gb total no sata or a need for a sata controller card added into a pci slot for an old board. The make and model board itself will reveal all when the specifications are looked over.

Where can I go on my comp to find the specs, so I can tell you what kind of board I have. It's an Asus but I don't know the number or anything..

Tell me what the model number of the drive and I can tell you. Go into Device Manager > Disk drives.

One small free program will provide a complete hardware and software breakdonwn on the entire system including makes and model numbers for cpu, board, drives, video and sound cards. dial-up modems or nik cards evern. That would be the System Info for Windows(SIW) tool found at http://www.gtopala.com/

That has SATA on it so you're set.
