RAM memory for games

I have no knowledge about this, so when it comes to this I'm a complete idiot. Anyway, let's get to the problem....

I installed my game FIFA Manager 2008 into my computer. When I try to run it, there was an error saying the computer needs 640 MB of free swap file space to run. I was like "wtf? What is Swap file space?". Is it RAM or what? If it is, is there anyway I can extend my RAM memory in order to run this game? Because my RAM is only 504MB. One more thing, is it possible to increase RAM memory in laptop?

I'm desperated for an answer so a quick reply would be really appreciative.

Thanks,

Uhpneiht.

Yes it is possible. Give us your model number and we'll search up a module for ya. You live in the US correct?

err... I'm not quite sure how to look up the RAM model and I am half the world away from the US.

By the way, My intention is to install this FIFA game into my laptop (which is under checkup) so I tried to install it on my relative's crappy computer first to make sure nothing is wrong with it. Everything is fine after all except for this only problem which I can conclude that my laptop would not even be able to run it if there's not enough RAM memory inside. That's why I ask whether it is possible to increase my laptop's RAM memory. I'm not sure about the model number of my relative's stuff but I may know mine. But I've got to wait because I had it fixed for a while...

Swap file is: Page file, virtual memory. Assuming you are using XP, right click My Computer < Advanced tab < performance settings < advanced tab < virtual memory: change. A good amount is a 1:1 or a 1:2 ratio.

BAM!
