Help: Question about memory

Hello, I have a ASUS P5LD2 Socket T LGA775 Intel 945P Mobo and right now for memory I have Crucial 2-512MB 240 Pin DDR2 PC2-5300 memory. I got a deal on a 2GB kit http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820141064 there is a link to the memory. I would like to know if I can put this memory right in or should I take out the old and use those slots? I would like to run it all if I can but not sure if it would hurt. Thanks for the help.

I would take your old memory out and see if the new RAM works first. Once you are sure the new random access memory works, combine the old memory with the new.

It shouldn't harm anything if you do this. Just know that your new memory will backclock to PC2-5300 speeds. I would rather have 3 gigabytes of PC2-5300 memory than only 2 gigabytes of PC2-6400 memory.

I looked at his motherboard specifications. He has four slots for 240-pin Double Data Rate 2 random access memory and his motherboard maximum is 4 gigabytes.
