My CPU can't run dual channel.

On my build my CPU doesn't support dual channel ( E6550), does that mean my RAM will not work? does that mean i have to have a single ram chip instead of 2? I got that from the RAM 101, but because the thread is closed is that up to date information? does anyone know if Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 Dual Core Processor supports dual channel?

Its not the processor that supports Dual Channel its the motherboard. The Gigabyte in your setup supports dual channel. I dont think there is a Core 2 board that doesnt support Dual channel

I hope your right, but whats this then :

Can I Run My Machine in Dual Channel?

Dual channel support is dictated by the chipset or in the case of some setups, the CPU

Intel

E7500, E7501, E7505, E7205, E7525, E7520, E7320

I took this off RAM101
