Laptop Hard drive space

Heey.

I just bought a new laptop, but it only has an 18 gb hard drive at the moment. I didn't want to plug this laptop up with programs and files that are unnnecessary, but my desktop is becoming more and more inactive and I need to save my iTunes music to this laptop.

I am currently using 3 gb worth of space on this laptop, and if i were to transfer my 14 gb of music onto here, there would only be one spare gb.

What effect would that have on this laptop? Would it browse the internet slower? Would it freeze up often?

I'd really appreciate any information given about my situation. Thanks, Will

First please don't post the same question multiple times in different sections.

As for your problem, it would be do-able however it may really decrease performance because the page file will have to be smaller in size, and if you don't have much RAM to begin with, then it will cause the computer to respond much slower.

My advice is only put on the music you want, not all 14GB of it.

omega is right but it doesnt hurt to try. Plop it on bro. If it slows down or freezes, remove it. I dont think it will slow down in general unless your running itunes. Thats when your goin g to see some serious lag.
