I was looking for memory for my Dell Dimension 4700. I found this Memory Configurator on Newegg. How reliable is this thing? Can i expect memory it tells me to work will work (assuming the motherboard and memory are not broken)? This is what i found http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820161030 . It looks like a good product. Good reviews. 1.8V sounds good, heat sink, not sure about brand. I got a little extra speed, so I can use it when i upgrade my entire computer (motherboard can use only PC2 4200, but i for the PC2 6400). Should this work with my computer?
What about http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220144 . THat looks nice too and is on the list to memory that should work.
Noone knows? Is there a way to email newegg? I cant find an email address anywhere. Ill call one day, if i cant find it soon.

Your motherboard specifications state that your motherboard runs RAM at PC2 4200 speeds. Your motherboard will not run Random Access Memory over PC2 4200 speeds. So your motherboard would likely work using PC2 6400 Patriot Extreme Performance 2 gigabytes of memory but it would be running at lower PC2 4200 speeds.
Of the two RAM choices I would go with Patriot. Looks like a good deal with the rebate.

I was thinking getting more than my mobo can take, so i can use it when i upgrade my computer. however, now that i think about it, memory really isnt that expensive, so since ill be keeping this computer too, I might as well get new memory for the new one, instead of going back to 1/4GB in this one.
