Hi all,

I just recently reformatted my computer but now I am having problems getting my hard drives up and running again.

I had windows installed on a maxtor IDE HDD and when that stuffed up I removed the cables to my SATA HDDs (2) and then reformatted the IDE HDD, installed windows 98 and then upgraded to XP.

I then updated with service pack 2 and installed all available updates via windows update.

when I now plug in the 2 SATA HDDs, BIOS does detect them but upon entering my computer, one of them is not seen at all.

with the other, I previously partitioned it to have 2 * 100GB disks but now for some reason I can only fully access one of them.

for the one I am having trouble with, I am able to open the disk and see the folders I created there before, but when I try opening a file/folder it tells me that access is denied.

also, when I hover my mouse above one of the folders its tells me that the folder is empty but the disk properties tells me that it only has 4GB left so obviously there is still something on the drive which is taking up the space?

any help would be much appreciated thanks.
