Ram Help


The ram im thinking of getting is 1.8V but it says on my motherboard it supports 1.7 is this a problem?

What make and model board? The specifications and user manual in particular will point out voltage settings and what memory is supported.

That's the one place you generally can't go wrong. If you ever lose the original paperback look you can look up the model you have for downloads at the manufacturer's support site.

The motherboard saying it will run 1.7 just means that is the lowest Voltage that the board will run, so 1.8 voltage ram will be fine.

On most boards simply leaving the voltage settings on auto will see the bios adjust voltages automatically for the memory used. On the board here the lowest is 1.8v with the memory able to run upto 1.95v where I can limit the voltage to the 1.8v setting or leave it on auto.
