I just finished setting this computer up, i was told by my motherboard company that windows xp doesnt allow you to utilize any hard drive larger than 130 GB. But they said there was a way to get this space back, by using a program. Does anyone know of a method or program i can use to achieve this?
if you right click on my computer... go to manage and device manager... if you look at your disk in there does it show up with unallocated space? if so i believe you can reclaim it in there

As long as you have the latest service pack, then Windows can support more then 127GB of hard drive space.

SP1 Will not show harddrives to be larger than 131Gb
You will need:
Windows XP SP2.
Service Pack 2 Allows Huge hardrives to be reconised.

It is true that LBA48 was supported from the first service pack. But sane people will install the newest
