boot problem

i have built a computer today with the following:

Gigabyte s-series
intel quad
8600gts
2 gb corsair ram
2 x 500gb hdd
1 x 150gb hdd
2x plextor 18x dvd drive
500w dual rail psu

I adjusted the boot sequence to cd/dvd first. I put in the vista x64 dvd and restarted. I get a screen that says "boot from cd/dvd:" and it just sits on that screen and will go no further. I hear the dvd drive spin up and it stops after a little while. What the problem here?

I had this same problem once, but it was on an asus board. Turned out my ram timings were wrong and it would not let me get past the same point you are at.

Figured out if was a bad dvd drive and somehow it made a loop that would not let me boot from the other drive. The computer viewed 2 drives as one. Thanks for the help guys
