My Hard Drive Shows up in the Remove Hardwar list!?

I just built a new computer, and for some reason my SATA hard drive is showing up in the "Remove Hardware" list. As of right now, I have just finished putting Window's on my computer. I'm not sure why my hard drive would show up there? Is ther some way to to get it off the list?

I haven't done any Window's updates yet, still trying to find the driver disk for my wireless usb adapter :/

Any idears?

I think most SATA drives show up there, both of mine do. Just make sure not to remove them (it wont let you anyways, as they are being used) and its not a big deal.

it is supposed to especially if your mobo has raid functions.

Oh okay! I didn't know that. My last one didn't, but the mobo on that computer was jacked-up. Thanks!

There's a freeware called Icon Remover made for removing the annoyance found at http://icon-remover.safelyremove-com.qarchive.org/ One quick method used here is to simply the always hide option until it disappears on it's own. After a certain amount of time it never reappears unless a new drive or device is added to the system. The freeware is simply a quick fix for this.

Mine does too. Just ignore it. Even if you try to eject it, nothing will happen. I've done so by mistake a couple times.

When adding drives here I simply hide the icon so I can right click on another one visible in the system tray until it finally goes poof! and vanishes. It's a temporary item MS added into XP providing a removal option if your new hardware goes doa on youl. Follow T_O_O's advice on ignoring it until then.
