Music Recording PC

ok so I want a seperate computer for my upcoming home recording studio. It's not going to be much but I want the cheapest PC that can be made that can handle recording. I'm going to get a small mixer to run all my instruments/mics through. Any suggestions?

The one you have listed would do just fine for what you want to do. It's a dual core even if it is an older one. I have the same processor and I do some video and music processing, it works fine.

You might add another gig of ram and a much larger hard drive, but other than that it's a decent system.

You could up your processor depending on if it's a AM2 chip or not.

Now if you wanted to do some serious gaming I would build a whole new system.

Thats just a quick pick, you would need to pick a case and add an operating system, but what I picked was around $573 U.S. Add about $200 more for the OS and case and you would have a decent system for what you want to do.

Oh yeah, you would want to add a good sound card, add an extra $200 for that. Then you would want a good monitor, $400- $800 extra for that, depending on how big you want to go.

Well I know the PC I have now will do fine but I would like to keep it in the comfort of my bedroom and the comfy chair that accompanies it.
