had the little triangle system tray icon pop up this time for the C://$MFT file being corrupt. Reading up on google it says this has something to do with a corrupt master file table? something to do with the NTFS system and partitions? coudl this explain why writing/copying things off the drive to another and so forth, ive ended up having parts of some avi episodes i've dl'ed vanish into thin air? as in i've downloaded them to 100% and suddenly reopening the torrent for the files shows it as only 44% complete or whatever?

if so then i assume i shouldn't put any data on the hard drive affected at this point?

my main question is is this Master file table corruption a pernament problem? I've been having problems(as outlined in my other thread - dont read it its massive ) to do with messages of "xxx is corrupt and unreadable, please run checkdsk etc" , but Hard drive tune, western digitals lifeguard diagnostics, and memtest86 come up with no problems... therefore if i do a full hard drive format, and wipe out both partitions and recreate them again, will this solve the problem?

or is this a pernament problem that will show back up once i reformat and get everything back on the hdd?
