I was wondering if there was a way to copy all the data from one hard drive to another. I mean windows files and everything, a complete clone of the first hard drive so that i can boot from any hard drive and the computer wouldnt know the difference.
I cannot install windows on one of the two hard drives and the other one already has it on it along with misc files. What im trying to do is instead of installing windows (vista) on the new hard drive and transfering the misc files I want to simply clone it.
Does anyone know if there is a way to do this? Im guessing its illegal but none-the-less.
norton ghost should do the trick

From my experience doesnt work properly in VistaNorton Ghost (If you're not using Vista works well, if you're lucky enough to have an older version i.e.,v7.5-8 then grab it!, the newer, .NET based ones arent so great)
Cant remember if Tried in vista:
RTT Drive Image
Works in Vista
Paragon Drive Backup (works very well, definitely recommended if you using vista)
Acronis True Image
Not tried personally
O&O DiskImage

well i got "Acronis.True.Image.9.1.B.3,534.Workstation.Boot.C D" and it seems to be an iso. Im guessing that im suppose to burn the iso (im using magic iso) and then have my computer boot from it. From there it will give me options to do clone. Does that sound right?

I bought a program called Drive Wizard online for about $30... it makes exact replicas of drives and more. I thought it was a good investment.
