raid hard drives

Hello, I read on the forum that a single hard drive can be put in an external usb case and accessed from another working computer, My computer died and needs a new mother board thats not available(im still looking for now) but i have a raid set up with the 2 hard drives, is it possible to put a raid set up into an external hard drive case or cases or do they make something special for that and run it off a working computer that has raid to transfer files back to a working computer? thankyou for any assistance..
