Flash disk speed is very low

I just bought a 1GB Kingston flash disk, It's supposed be USB 2.0 but the copy speed is 2 MBps and doesn't go above 4 MB.



Any suggestion ?

Are you sure your computers drivers are up to date? The flash drive might be 2.0, but the USB ports in your computer may be 1.0

Yes the drivers are up to date.

Have you enabled the high speed USB controller in the BIOS?

bump, I have a kingston flash drive and the speed is also very slow, noticably slower than my other flash drive. Anyone have any idea why?

Yes, but this is REALLY slow, a lot slower than my friends 1gig drive.

Have you also tried plugging it into a port on the back? The only thing I can think of that would cause a really noticable slow down would be if it's not actually on a USB2 port. I suppose the files could be small enough that it doesn't have time to get up to full speed as well, but I'm assuming you are transfering big enough files.
