I bought 2 sticks of RAM and it displays that it is 533Mhz. I really cant be bothered chasing them up and returning it, so can someone tell me how much performance I am losing by 533Mhz, rather than 667Mhz RAM?
I dont do any overclocking...
Not a huge amount. Make sure you didn't get charged for 667 though.

ram is ram, it runs at whatever your memory clock is
you need to turn your bus up to 667 for it to run at 667, it wont just automatically run at that speed

If the board supports 667 (which it does) it will automagically set the RAM to 667 unless the SPD chip isn't programmed properly.
You'll probably notice the difference but it shouldn't be something that really stands out.

So do you have any idea how to fix this? 2 of my sticks are reporting DDR2-533 while the other 2 are running DDR2-667 - making the entire system run at DDR2-533. I have tried updating the BIOS. Still wont work
Oh, BTW I am running vista. Can this have anything to do with the SPD thing?

Unless those 2 533 sticks are actually 667 (which they probably are not), there's nothing you can do. You could return them and get a pair of 667 sticks but that's all.
An SPD chip is an EEPROM that stores timing parameters and whatnot for the stick of RAM so you don't have to set things manually. It's got nothing to do with your OS.

I will check if the actual sticker on the RAM says 667 or 533... If it says 667, could that mean that the RAM is faulty or my mobo is at fault?

It would almost certainly be the RAM. It's not necessarily faulty, it could have been stickered wrong or something.
