im not sure on the usb thing , I will be using it between 3 computers , one that is old and a laptop i bought last year and a desktop I bought a year and a half ago
budget $200 ,
I would like for it to look nice, if im going to get one , I found a pretty slim silver one at circuit city that held 512 gigs, but i wasnt sure of getting it cause I dont really know anything about them and how they work
for example how fast does it take to transfer a file from the computer to the hard drive
if anyone could post links to images or informationa bout one you recommend , I would greatly appreciate it

I have a photography business and I have to have reliability(if I have a failure that means I have lost someone's pix and I have to pay for them to come back and give them a deal on their order). Anyway, I have 3 of these and I have had maybe 65,000 pix on each(after christmas portrait season). I have not had a "flunker" yet and for 9 months. They only guarantee a HD for 3-5 yrs. Hope this helps ur decision

I use this, it takes quite a bashing as I take it too and from Uni in my bag unprotected and has not let me down yet. Doesn't look too bad either, and the price is great. Sure you can find it cheaper somewhere else as well. It comes in 250gig, 320gig and 500gig vertions. Prices are $129, $149 and $229 respectivly.
