Need expert advice: Server Memory

Can I use Server Memory in my PC? I bought a 2GB Corsair (CM75DD2048R-400): http://www.superwarehouse.com/Corsai...R-400/p/647248

Since it goes for around $350 and I got it much cheaper, I was hoping I could use it in my PC. It's a DDR2 so I'd imagine it fits in my DDR compliant mobo.

Thanks All!

NO, DDR has 184 pins and DDR2 has 240 pins. So if you mobo can take DDR RAM then DDR2 won't work, sorry.

What if I bought a Mobo that supports DDR2. Will the SERVER memory work then?

Thanks in advance

P.S. I need to make this work. I have the memory in hand and I bought it for $50 bucks. 2GB for 50 is unreal and it's brand new.

Yeah if you pick up a mobo that supports DDR2 it should work but then you would most likely have to replace the CPU also.

Cool. I actually bought this to throw into an old computer but I'm also in the process of building a new one and I (without reading the description in ebay) jumped on the DDR2 because it was ending in like 30 seconds and was extremely cheap (seller posted in in the wrong section and I got lucky).

So I guess I'll have to throw this in the new pc. Just glad to hear a "Corsair Server" Memory works in a regular personal computer.

Thanks

Yes you would have to get mobo that also supports DDR2 AND ECC. I believe.
