OCZ Gold RAM. Cool looking, but is it trustworthy?

OCZ makes some nice looking RAM and for good prices, but do they really cause more trouble than they're worth? They have Gold cooled RAM but they have bad reviews. It seems that the main thing in the reviews is that need to increase the voltage. Well, this doesn't seem to be much of a problem theoretically, but in reality with this really be all that hard to correct for the prepared? I want to go with them, but just not sure if I should.

They dont have Gold cooled RAM, do you have any idea how much that would cost? They use copper and/or aluminum heatspreaders.

It depends on the model, but generally OCZ is a reputable brand, and has decent quality RAM.

I never needed to increase my voltage with my OCZ. Even if you did, it's not difficult at all.

Yes that would be something. Think how cool they would run if they did have them. I also herd that they are not compatible with the specific MOBO I am getting...

Not that cool. Silver is the best at conducting heat.

Really? I thought it was gold. I herd gold was when watching a show on this car, Mclaren F1 I believe it was, and it had a hood over the engine or something like that that was pure gold to reduce heat. Silver huh? Wonder why that is.

Yeah... I dont think so. There isn't anything useful about gold really. And I know for a fact they didn't use pure gold as the hood for two reasons:
1. Gold is super flexible
2. A hood isn't going to make a difference when cooling a car. Ever here of a radiator

It wasn't the hood, it all the casing around the engine or something like that.

Oh. I always thought Gold was the best conductor of heat. And yes pure gold, there are only 100 of them in the world made i think, not positive, they cost a lot of $$$.

gold foil lines the engine bay and exhaust compartment of the maclaren F1 as its a good heat reflector and thus insulates the bay areas..

anyways back to the topic
