New Memory?

This memory looks really nice, but i have never heard of the company really and there arent any reviews.

Does it look good? Anyone know anything about it?

Other than looking cheap, I've actually heard good reviews of it.

I have one question that is in a different direction.

Why does everyone buy 2.1v RAM for mobos that say "JEDEC supported 1.8v", and everyone tells me the motherboard might not POST if you use 2.1v, but EVERYONE does. Why?

2.1V RAM is usually performance DDR2-800. Depending on the brand it may have safe SPD settings so you can POST initially to change the settings. If it doesn't some companies will let you ship the RAM to them so they can put safe settings on for you (OCz did this a lot when people had no end of issues on 965 boards).

Because Performance DDR2-800 @ 4-4-4-12 usually needs 2.0-2.1V to operate.

Do you think this corsair 1.9v XMS2 DDR2 800 RAM would allow a Jedec supported 1.8v mobo to POST?

Do you think corsair XMS2 2.1v would allow it to POST?

(the mobo would be either an eVga 680i, ASUS P5B Deluxe, or DS3)

It really depends on the BIOS you get. The 1.9V has a better chance but I can't say either one will work for sure. What I will say is get the RAM you want and if it doesn't work take it to a shop (or if you have some old cheap ddr2 lying around use that) and set your ram voltage higher and try the good stuff again.
