22" Widescreen for $289

I was looking at upgrading from my 19" standard LCD to a 22" widescreen LCD. My friends got some and they look sweet, but they got them for $200 on black friday.

Anyways, heres the link to the monitor, tell me what you think: http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Acer-...Detail.do#tabs

Acer's aren't bad. I've had a few. They aren't the best out there, obviously, but they are priced right and give you good bang for the buck. I would say go for it.

This is the one I have now, though, and it will smack it silly if you want to spring the extra cake:

That does look amazing, but going from a 19" to a 20" wouldnt seem worth it, especially for the price.

In a way yes, I hear what you are saying.. But when you see the contrasts and colors you would wonder why you didn't buy one sooner. Acer is a little more, how do you say, less distinct? Everything dark blends in together?? For lack of a better way of putting it. The colors are a little less rich and vibrant and the picture is a tad more "pixelated".

My description isn't exactly the best, but then again I'm not a monitor reviewer either for obvious reasons. But they do function quite well for what they are and if you can look past the small faults I hasten to say that they are worth the money.

Well the monitor I have now only has 500:1 contrast, and 300cd/m2 brightness. The Acer has 700:1 contrast, and the same brightness. So it would probably seem more vibrant to me anyways.

It would certainly be easier on the eyes, that's for sure. I dunno. Mine were ok. I just like this LG 100 times better, but it's almost $100 more, which is unfortunate.

Ya I saw that, but I went with the Acer because of a few reasons:

$10 cheaper

Black, not silver so it matched my setup

No shipping cost

Much easier returns

Less chance of being DOA.

I'll post a pic soon when I get it setup.
