PC6400 1.8v memory


im looking for 2 x 512MB of PC6400 for a GIGABYTE GA-965P-S3 mobo, but i cant find any better than brand "A-data". It is the only better item i could find with 1.8v in the whole newegg!!

If you buy RAM that's 1.9V and it goes into the boot loop on the first power up take it to a shop and have them flash the newest BIOS and/or update the voltage to 1.9V. It they shouldn't cahrge more than $10-15

No need.



I think itll still boot (its only 0.1V difference - but it may be unstable. So go to your BIOS and overvolt it). You only need to do all that if there is a difference bigger that +0.3v

The initial BIOS release doesn't like anything but 1.8V, anything else wouldn't post. I don't know if they are still shipping with version F2, it wold make sesne that they have updated them to at least F4

So you could just get a cheap stick and use that to bump the voltage....

Yes but usually it's cheaper to update the BIOS at a shop.
