Simple Memory Question

I have 3 memory slots on my motherboard, at the mo 2 have 512mb memory on the 3rd lot do i have to put another 512 memory card or could i put 1 1024mb memory in it?

check your manual for the max supported RAM
and also be aware of the single sided and double sided RAM
on some boards they don't work together in a specific situation.
Like in my board I can't put 2 double sided RAMs with one single sided RAM.

so check the manual, you will find everything you need to know.

It should if the board will read that much, I would put the 1gig stick in slot 1 and the 512s in 2 and 3
