I want to buy P965 DS3 mobo for my E6400.
Do I really need to buy 800Mhz ram??I want to OC but not extremely, probably just raising FSB..Would be 667 enough??
Is there still issue with OCZ memories??
yes, i think it would be enough. you can always put the memory on a divider, so it wouldnt run on too high frequenties

DDR2-667 is fine. If you want faster memory, just bump up the voltage to 2.0V and the timings to 4-5 (depending on the RAM).

The 667 should easily be able to hit into the 800Mhz range with some slightly looser timings and a bumpin voltage, or both. If you get 800Mhz memory, you can usually get decent 800Mhz memory up around 900Mhz. Good 800Mhz memory can usually be tweaked out to near 1Ghz range.

I'll probably go with DDR2 800 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227030
as there is no big price difference between 667 and 800.
I hope that it will work with P965 DS3

Are you going to Overclock?
It seems that OCZ has lots of compatibility issues. But, that ram is 1.9V and should boot. Corsair is 1.9V as well, but it almost never has booting issues.
Reason I ask if you wil loverclock is the fact that the DS3 is an overclocking board. If you're not going to, you'd be just as fine getting a cheaper C2D board. Most C2D boards, even cheap ones, can OC enough to bring 667 ram up to 800 speeds though which woudl be perfectly safe.

I was looking at this memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231073
very good price but too bad it's out of stock.
I didn't notice any price difference between 667 and 800Mhz.
I want to OC a little bit,not to do any xtreme OC as I never did that but want to try it now.
