Question on Ram

Hi, i know theres a faq for this but i really dident understand it. i am upgrading my computers ram and video card, and, am wondering how to find out what type of ram i am using, any idea what a dimension 8200 running xp pentium 4 would be using? also how much would be a good amout, i'm thinking about buying a gig. any ideas?

Your computer uses RDRAM, which is insanely expensive. To upgrade to 1GB, you would probably be spending around $400.

Also you have to buy RDRAM in pairs, so you'll have to buy 2* 512 sticks and replace the 2 little modules on the motherboard with the ram. Again, like bob said, insanely expensive not worth it at all. You're far better off just building a new computer.
