Transfering large files

im trying to transfer a 30gig file from my 160 internal to my 160 external. not difficult but im having the problem that when it starts to transfer.

a little window in the bottom corner keeps popping up and saying that some files may have been lost and the quality isnt as good. how can i prevent this? i really need to transfer the file over and it has to be the exact same one and no lesser quality.

i dont mind if there is a really slow process for it i desperatly need it to be moved. thanks in advance!!!

If possible i would try usb connection and try transfering it that way. First you can check if there is a problem with any drivers for firewire.. right click my computer, click manage, select devie manager.. if there is any problems there an item will have a red cross through it or a yellow circle with a question mark.. if there is, right click the offending device, select properties and update driver through windows update. There is also a troubleshoot button you can select to see if windows can help.
