Problem with new RAM


Hi,



I bought a new 512 MB PC3200 DDR RAM to my IBM Thinkpad A31 2652 laptop but after installing it and pressing the power bottom all I get is a blank screen. The laptop had originally two 128 MB PC2100 DDR RAM. Please help

try 2 see if it is as far as it can go in.

take it out and put it back in.
blank screen? sounds like a video card problem. no signal at all?

Hi,

The card fits perfectly in the slot. Also taking it out and in again does not make any difference

it is a black screen like if the laptop is still switched off

did you take out the origional ram?

I tried it with and without the original RAM and in both slots

If you put the orginal ram back in and take the new out does it work again? Did you make sure to ground your self before touching any labntop part or the RAM?

the laptop works as usual with the original ram
